LOOT: NEW WnW N/P & CVS SEMI-ANNUAL SALE

I found these things last week when I was doing my weekly drugstore rounds... =)

@ Walgreens
50% off sale on Wet n Wild products

I grabbed me some of the new Fast Dry nail polishes from the new released collection for 2011...
I got (from L-R)
Gray's Anatomy 237C, Buffy the Violet Slayer 231C, Saved by the Blue 230C
these are the only three that caught my attention... I actually found these before I even read any reviews or any blog entries about them... but after seeing some posts about these new polishes (particularly Chloe's Nails blog), I kinda hoped I got the Party of Five Glitters (check out Chloe's Nails awesome nail swatches HERE... isn't it gorgeous???)

they are so pretty in the bottles... it just sucks coz the camera could not capture the actual color of the blue one... even when I turned off the flash,
it still didn't get the true color of the nail polish.... the blue is so much darker than this & it seems like theres a violet color tint to it... it's a really dark royal blue... I love it!

there are about 18 shades in this new nail polish line... check out this post & this post to see all shades in this new collection...

I also got a few from the permanent line...

I got (from L-R)
Night Prowl, Caribbean Frost, Blue Moon
look at that gorgeousness in the bottles!!
I spent less than $5 on all 6 nail polishes... shaooooo!! LOL

& then

@ CVS where they were havin a semi-annual sale
75% off on some Revlon nail products
I grabbed Cotton Candy & Sheer Nude
with the 75% discount & a $1 extra bucks coupon, I paid less than $2 for these two polishes which are originally priced around $6 per bottle... I saved all kinds at both stores! **happy dance** LOL

did you ladies pick up any of the nail polishes from the new line?

LAST SEPHORA HAUL OF 2010

another delayed post, is my last haul of the year 2010....

I received my package from Sephora around the third week of December which was the busiest week for me, so I didn't get the chance to post it right away...

mainly, I was gonna get the Urban Decay Naked palette but it wasn't available at that time, so I had to refer to my wish list (see on this post) to see the next items I was lusting on.... so here's what I decided to get....

(or some of them labeled as blushes??)
I got #5 Orange Coral Matte, #60 Navy Blue & #92 Purple

here they are in the individual packaging
aren't the colors so pretty??
#5 Orange Coral Matte
Blush Powder
(matte vibrant coral)
as mentioned in this post, I am still in search for that perfect bright peachy/orangey shade blush, since NARS' Taj Mahal & Illamasqua's Lover were not in stock, I had to look for an alternative... so I found this MUFE color & had a feeling that this shade would work perfectly with my skin tone.... it looks like it's more wearable than the Illamasqua Excite blush, which might be too orange(??)...

#60 Navy Blue
Eye Shadow
(matte navy blue)
I just love navy blues, I had to get this one...

#92 Purple
Blush Powder
(matte brilliant purple)
the infamous #92 shadow that's both very famous for being such a beautiful shadow & also such a pain in the butt for the stain it leaves on the skin... no matter what they say about this shadow, I knew I had to have it... I've wanted this for as long as I can remember....

here is the back of the packaging which shows the number of the shadow/blush.... what's great about the packaging of these shadows/blushers is that there's no need for depotting... the metal pan pops right out of the single eyeshadow packaging, ready to be placed in any magnetic palette casing....

the size of these shadows/blushers is about twice the size of the regular MAC eyeshadows... I think they're humongous!! here is a picture to show the comparison of the sizes....
the 3 MUFE pans compared to a quarter & a MAC palette refill pan....

here are the swatches without any base or primers...

I also took advantage of a great promo that MUFE is having right now.... if you buy any combination of 3 MUFE eyeshadows, diamond shadows or the powder blushes, you'll get a free

(holds 10 eyeshadows/blushes)
I was like, "scorrrre!" LOL.... how great is that?? this thing usually costs $20 but they give it to you for free!! I think it's awesome! MAC never have that kind of deal!

this is how the palette looks like inside & with the shadow pans in...

comparing it to the MAC pro refill palette which holds 15 eyeshadow pans....
I can't wait to fill it up with some more MUFE shadows/blushes.... what shades do you recommend???

& last but not the least.... I got the

#2 Sensual Silk
(creamy pinkish beige)
need I say more???

the swatch...

I didn't get much coz I didn't really wanna spend money on cosmetics right now, the main reason why I even shopped at Sephora was just to take advantage of of the $20 gift card that Sephora sent to all VIB members on the first week of December... (good from December 2nd thru the 13th)...

plus I just got a bunch of stuff from the Sephora Friends & Family Sale in November (see haul post HERE).... so I need to slow down... Sephora, please! enough of your emails about discounts & gift cards & all that stuff!! LOL

so I heard Urban Decay Naked palette is now back in stock???? hahaha.... G help me!!!

NEW YEAR NAIL COLOR: MARINE BLUE

PRODUCTS USED:
Seche Base base coat
Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro - MARINE BLUE
Nailene top coat

I mentioned in my last nail post (click HERE to see post) how much I'm lovin the Rimmel London's Lasting Finish PRO line.... well, let me correct that, I REALLY REALLY LOVE this line of nail polishes from Rimmel... I only own 2 but I think it's safe to say that this is by far the best nail polish ever.... yes, I said it!!! better than China Glaze or O.P.I. people!!!

~ a little review ~

according to the Rimmel London website:
Professional polished perfection for flawless up to ten-day colour and shine. Enriched with micro-sized minerals that fill in imperfections on the nail surface, Lasting Finish Pro Nail Enamel creates a smooth and super glossy finish for up to 10 days of maximum colour impact and shine. Advanced micro formula technology with active time-released system enhances shine over time. It captures and reflects light for colour that shines with dimension. UV fade protection keeps colour true. The formula is ultra flexible and long wearing with superior shock absorption and chip resistance. The Mistake-Free Pro brush features a wide angled brush for a fast and mistake-free professional application. With more than 800 e textured bristles, the brush is designed to adapt to any nail shape and require less strokes to apply, while delivering a super smooth finish and truly streak-free results.

things I love about this n/p:
- the colors...
they are uber vibrant!
- the applicator...
which Rimmel called "Mistake-Free Pro Brush".. (the size of the brush covers almost my entire nail bed)
- super smooth...
I love the way they go on my nails... because of the shape & size of the brush, it allows me to paint my nail in one stroke (or 2) per coat which results in less streaking because I don't have to go over the nails quite as much... so it is
- 100% streak free
- they apply so easily, thin or thick coat!!
 - less time consuming (still because of the shape of the brush applicator)
- they last for days & days....
I applied my nails on January 1st & I still have it on right now... with very minimal chipping, I only have two chippings on the the tips that are not even that visible.... no scratches or anything like that... the packaging claims up to 10 days, well they got that right & more, coz mine's already on day 12 & still in very very good shape...
- the packaging...
is very unique... most n/p's have the traditional rounded bottles but this one is squared shape & is very cute in my opinion
- price...
for $3.99 a pop?? + the frequent discounted tags at drugstores?? not bad at all!! I'd say this is actually very affordable for the quality of this product...

some drawbacks:
- limited colors...
according to the Rimmel London website, there are 32 shades available, but unfortunately not all 32 are available at drugstores... the most I've seen is probably around 12 shades...
- the packaging...
despite the cute look the packaging gives, it makes it hard to roll the bottle pre-application, instead you would need to shake it a bit, which is a big no no in the n/p application book.... but there's always ways around it, what I do is shake it & leave it for about a minute for it to settle & so it wouldn't produce bubbles prior to application....
other than that, the packaging does not bother me at all...

I am officially in love with Rimmel London Lasting Finish PRO nail polishes!!!!!!!

next on my list to buy are:
Bare Naked
Steel Grey
(& maybe) Hot Cocoa

do you like this line of nail polish?? what is your favorite shade???

disclaimer:
I am not in any way affiliated to Rimmel London....
the items in review were paid for by me...
I was not paid to do this review.....
this is my personal & honest opinion....

so ladies & gentlemen (I think I have about 3 or 4 of them following my blog... LOL), here is the very first blog post of the year...

as you may all know by now, most of the time, I procrastinate on my blog posts (ok & maybe with everything else too)..... something that I hope I can change this year, but hey if this thing called LIFE is what's getting in the way of blogging, then there is really nothing I can do... LOL... okay, I don't wanna be too overdramatic on my very first blog post of the year, so let's get on with it....

the palette I used here was the Snow Sprite palette from the Wet n Wild ColorIcon Holiday LE palettes... the only one I got out of the 4 palettes they came out with... I dunno if I ever told you the story, but when it came out, I kept goin back to our local Walgreens (mind you we have two)... I probably went there maybe more than 5 times to check... yes, I'm that persistent! I never found them until I finally gave up.... I assumed my Walgreens is just the worst one in the entire US.... but then I went back maybe a couple of weeks before Christmas & decided to ask the sales associate, who directed me to the seasonal shelf.... "what seasonal shelf?!?" there were only two palettes left, and they were both Snow Sprite!!!! they've had it all this time, I just never knew where they were at!!!!! now WHY DID I NOT THINK ABOUT ASKING FOR HELP BEFOREHAND????? believe me, I kicked my self a hundred times for that!

but yeah, so I decided to grab both palettes... the one that I like the least out of the four!!! =( I wanted to get the Night Elf so bad, so if anyone is interested in doing a swap - my Snow Sprite to your Night Elf.... lemme know! =) pretty please! LOL... I'm desperate...

so here is the one that I got + swatches....
