SEPHORA F&F 2010 WISH LIST

am I like the last one that heard about the Friends & Family Sale that Sephora is having?? doood!! I almost almost missed it!!! I guess the sale started October 22nd & will end today, November 3rd... does this happen around the same time every year?? how come a lot of people knew about it & I didn't?!?!! were you guys notified about it or something?? coz I mean I know I got some stuff from last year's F&F sale but I don't remember the month when it happened... & also, I get notifications thru email about sales & discounts & stuff like that but not with this one... what the heck is goin on??? did I just miss that email??? oh well!! what's important is that I didn't miss it....

so here is my wish list for the Sephora Friends & Family Sale 2010.... (in no particular order)
I'm actually not sure what shade I should get, I usually head over to the store to get matched but I guess I don't have time to do that now, do I?!? I was gonna get the light peach but it's out of stock at the moment, so I will probably get the light bisque instead...

my biggest problem when it comes to skin/face is blackheads on the nose.. mine is really bad right now coz I haven't used anything to get rid of them... I've tried the Biore & the Ponds strip in the past but was really not satisfied with the result... so I wanna see if the problem will be solved if I get a product that's a bit more on the high end...

this is probably something I don't really need but just really curious about this product....
I don't own a single NARS eyeshadow as of yet, for the very obvious reason that it is way too pricey... but I love the colors from the swatches that I've seen & I wanna own atleast one....

I finally finished the Aveeno Sunblock Lotion SPF 55 (4oz.) that I've had since August of last year... (see post HERE)... wow! I had it for more than a year?!?! I must not use a lot of sunscreen or maybe coz I stopped working & I don't really go out of the house that much?!? but since I'm a product junkie, it's a big deal for me to have finished one product without buying another one with different brand but with the same purpose... yay for me!! LOL... but yeah, since that one's dunzo I need to get a good one... I mean I liked the Aveeno coz it never broke me out but I think it's a little bit greasy for my already oily skin... so I need something that's good for oily skin.. did a little research that lead me to this... we'll see how it works...

I've been using the Kate Somerville that I got as a sample & for some reason, it didn't really wow me... it didn't give me any reason to buy the full size at all.. maybe coz I got used to the uber creamy consistency of the Aveeno that my skin doesn't wanna adapt to the runny consistency of the Kate Sommerville one... plus when I looked in the Sephora website & compared the ratings of the Peter Thomas Roth & the Kate Sommerville, Peter had a better review... so I'm trusting my intuition on this one... & it's telling me yes to Roth & no to Sommerville...

I just need a good undereye concealer team & according to reviews, this & the Bobbi Brown Correctors are top notcher...

another thing that I probably don't need at the moment since I still have some makeup remover wipes from MAC... but just something I had to put on a list somewhere to remind me that I have my eye on it...

something I'm definitely sure I don't need but have to have because of this stupid thing I started about collecting the whole Book of Shadows series... ugh!!! now if I don't get it, I know it's gonna bug the hell out of me for a long time... so, now I really have to get it.... yes!! it's called addiction!

just another reminder that someday, I will have this... but if I recover from this addiction, maybe I'll change my mind =)

I know this I gotta have!!!! I've been droolin on this baby for a loooong time now but it was too expensive for a perfume, in my opinion, so I wanted to just wait until there's a really good deal on this... I dunno if the 20% discount is good enough though... I know there's a lot on eBay that are a little bit cheaper than what Sephora offers... but then again there's a question about the quality... so... I have til end of day to make up my mind...

do I really need this?? I mean, I'm not quite a believer of eye creams, my mom got me used to this idea that creams and all those things that people put on their faces will cause a lot of damage to the skin in the long run, particularly wrinkles & lines... so, that got stuck in my head & so I steered clear of them... but then I hear these things that we need this cream & that cream for this & that.... so I'm confused!!! is this really something we need????

as you can probably tell, I'm not good with hair... you would notice that my hair is always straight (if not, just straight up NOT FIXED)!! it's because that's all I know how to fix my hair!! I don't like the idea of the clamp or clip or whatever it's called... believe it or not, I have tried using a regular curling iron & I DO NOT LIKE IT!! the other thing that bothers me is that the traditional clip iron doesn't seem to work on my hair... it's not curling my hair at all!! trust me, it's not because I don't know how to use a curling iron or that I'm not using a curling spray... it's just not curling my thick ass hair... so, I think I just need something different... but again, this is just another item that's staying on the wish list because it's wayyyy wayyy too expensive!!

the whole purpose of this wish list is to get your opinion on some of these products...

do you have any of these??
if so, how do you like them??
is it buy worthy??
do I need it??
should I get it???
waste of money??
does it really work???
what shades are best??
do you recommend any other products that I should get??

& any other comments, opinions, anything would help! so please feel free to drop me a note... I have until the end of the day to finalize my order... so, I would appreciate your input on this....

if you are like me who's not aware that the Sephora F&F 2010 is goin on, you still have a chance to avail of this great deal! this happens only once in a while, so if you need stuff from Sephora, now is the best time to grab 'em... all you need to do is enter the code "FF2010" at checkout & you will get the 20% discount on your entire purchase plus free shipping on orders of $50 or more....

have fun shopping!! =)

MINI LUSH HAUL

this is my LUSH haul at the Universal City Walk

***click on the item name to see info
(ingredients, reviews & etc)
on the product at LUSH[dot]com

I only got the 0.320 lb, this was the least they have at the time... I got it for $16.64 @ $52.00/lb...

it looks like a grainy wasabe or maybe guacamole!!

3.3 fl. oz. $8.95
also available in a 8.4 fl.oz bottle for $18.95
I got the smaller version coz this is just for trial... I'm not sure if my skin will like LUSH...

when I walked in there, I asked the girl that helped me for a set that will help with my break outs... so she recommended these 2 first items plus the ENZYMION moisturizer... since I still have a lot of my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.. plus for a small tub it's ridiculously expensive so, I decided to just skip this item... I thought, moisturizer is moisturizer! I don't think it'll make a difference if I use this or not... but we'll see!!

BABY FACE CLEANSER 1.2 oz. for $9.95
this is my favorite one out of all the stuff I got!! the girl said this is a good makeup remover, when she said that, I was sold!! hahaha... according to the website, the base of this soap is made up of stuff that melts & grab hold of makeup & dirt... what I love about this is you don't need water, so you don't even have to be in a bathroom to use this.... click on the link to see directions on how to use this cleanser...

isn't it so cute??? it looks like a face of a chubby baby... hahaha

MINT JULIPS LIP SCRUB 0.8 oz. for $8.95
I love the smell of this stuff... it smells like minty chocolate!

& to give you an idea of how big these items are....

I haven't really tried any of these stuff yet.. but as soon as I do, I'll give you an update or better yet, if my busy life permits, a review!! haha... I'm not promising anything but I shall try!

do you have any of these stuff??
do you girls like LUSH???
what is your favorite LUSH product??

SALLY'S SUPER MINI HAUL

I went to Sally's today for 2 reasons:

1: because I was dyin to buy some China Glaze nail polishes

2: because I need to get me some type of blackhead remover (one of the big reasons why I haven't done any FOTD/LOTD is because my face is really bad right now, mainly because of some minor zits & major blackhead situation)

so here is what I got today...
- a nail file... (I need a really good one... any suggestions??
- my very first China Glaze nail polish - SPONTANEOUS
(I am going back for the other colors that are on my 'drool list'; FOR AUDREY, SOUR APPLE & SHOCKING PINK)
- Orly nail polish - BASKET CASE
- Beauty Secrets' blackhead/whitehead remover

what are your favorite China Glaze nail polish colors??

ACNE VULGARIS

I just popped the biggest zit I've ever seen in my entire life & ohmyfriggin G, a big ol white thingie... ok I'm not gonna try to be all girly here... rewind!!! a big ol pus came out!! yeah, whatever! you can say 'eeeewwww' all you want, like you haven't done that atleast once in your life... i'm pretty positive, we've all done this, mostly in private.. the only difference is I decided to share my acne-squeezing-pus experience to all the blog readers that will come across this page... I'm breaking out so bad!! I've been tryina figure out how or when it started... the only thing I can remember was that I was already starting to have a few when my cousin Maita from the P.I. ----> (pic - on the right is Maita... ain't she pretty?!) was here for a visit in June of last year... I think I just had the Papillomavirus vaccine / Gardasil shot (da wat?) around that time & the hormones in it could've triggered it... could it be that? could it be the tea that I've been drinking? could it be stress? could it be chocolate overdose? I dunno, I can't quite put my finger on it... it could be all that or it could be that I was just being lazy...

I used to really be good with skin care in the past... maybe this was because I had gone to a dermatologist, had a good facial & got some good products to use... I was committed to a good daily regimen for a while after that derma visit (which was a while back when I have only Devean... I know, another session has long been overdue... DermaSpa MD staff had called & said they've missed me... =)... ok, they didn't! but I am sooooo desperately needing to lay on one of their beds again & get a facial & shoulder massages... ooohhhh... heaven!!!)... I used to wash & tone my face twice a day, spot treat every night & exfoliate at least 2-3 times a week... I was dedicated... but I guess I lost it when I ran out of products & since my face was clear at that time, I was pretty confident I didn't need to do the whole skin care thing anymore... so I just didn't re buy another acne treatment kit... I adopted the lazy approach to skin care, which is that I wash my face whenever I feel like it... but I was wrong!! then I started to really like makeup... & you know how it is, you wouldn't learn everything about anything overnight, it's a process... I kept buying brushes, using them & not knowing that I have to wash them on a regular basis... I didn't start washing my brushes until after a while, I know it was common sense but I got too excited to experiment & learn new stuff that I didn't worry about anything else... so imagine all the bacteria that my brushes accumulated over time, I was applying makeup AND bacteria on my face!!!!! mega exclamation points!!! yikes! so it could be that too... but now that I know better to wash or at least spot clean my brushes often, I wonder why I still break out!!?!?

in my desperation to find the culprit to my acne problem, I tried a lot of things... I stopped drinking tea, I had cut back on my chocolate intake, I didn't get stressed out (yes! I can control that..... i wish!).. tried all kinds of products less expensive than Glytone too... but nothin worked... I can't blame it on the Gardasil shot anymore as my 3rd & last one was back in October... what I haven't tried is not to be lazy & be consistent... so I guess this is a challenge, from now on I'm gonna try & get back to a regular skin care routine (twice-daily, exfoliate, spot treat - the whole shabang!).. this will be an experiment for a whole week, then I will post the end result next week or in a couple of weeks...

also another sign that I should start taking good care of my skin is that I
found my exfoliating mask - my Sothys Peeling-Creme/Gommage exfoliant... I've never seen/used this in a loooong time, maybe coz I wasn't really looking for it... but lemme tell you, this stuff is amazing!! after removing your makeup, you put a thin layer on your well-dried off face, then leave it on for about a minute (like mask), when it's almost dry, rub it off in circular motion... you can tell that the product peeled dead skin cells off your face as it becomes really soft & smooth... I got this with the Glytone kit from the derma place & even though it's a little bit old, I'm still gonna use it, coz I bought this shit for about 30 freakin bucks!! I'm only probably halfway of the tube & it doesn't have an expiration date so I think it'll be safe to still use it...

I really don't understand the whole deal with acne, I think they have their own mind... they decide when they wanna pop out, when they wanna leave, who they want to infest... (they must be really liking me right now, coz it's really bad!) ... sometimes if they really like you, they torture you by poppin out at the right time, yes they have very good timing!! they pop out at special occasions on the perfect spot - a big ol zit on your forehead (right in the middle to spite you more) when you have a wedding to go to; on your cheek (with pus) when you have to go clubbin with friends; on your nose (hella big & red) when you have to go to a party & see a lot of people you haven't seen in a while; on your chin ('twin zits' - small but there's another one right next to the other so it still looks big) on your friggin birthday!! these are not personal experiences but only to prove that acne/zits/break outs/pimples/tigyawat/tagihawat are our biggest enemy....

to go totally OT here, on my KINDERGARTERRRR post on 2/18, I mentioned that I bought a jumbo 3 barrel waver... well, I was tryin it out the other day & realized that it's hard to do it on short hair & boy was it very time consuming!! or at least it was on my first try... you gotta cut me some slack coz this is my first time using this tool ok?! also I didn't know I ran out of hair spray so I just used a curl definer spray, I know hair spray gives a different effect... oh & yeah, I didn't know what to do with the bangs... freakin amateur! so be very considerate with the criticism please! I probably won't do it again until my hair is long enough... here is what it looked like.....
