STUDIO FIX PIX

I haven't really played with the MAC stuff I bought the other day that much yet... but I've worn the Studio Fix Fluid twice & so far, I'm likin it... here are some of the pix from today where I was wearing the Studio Fix Fluid foundation... we attended Davi's uncle's funeral...

R.I.P. UNCLE DAGUL

sorry, no close ups this time... but when I get the chance, IF I get the chance, I'll experiment with all my foundations & compare each one of them... but here are the products I used today:
FACE
Clinique Moisturizing Gel
Aveeno Sunblock Lotion - SPF55
Studio Fix Fluid Foundation - NC30
Studio Sculpt Concealer - NC30
MAC MSF - Natural
Milani Powder Bronzer - Light
Benefit Coralista
Evian Mineral Water Spray

EYES
Maybelline NY Expert Wear E/S - Chai Latte
Rimmel London Soft Kohl E/L Pencil - Jet Black
CoverGirl Lashblast - Very Black
Milani Brow Shaping Kit - Medium

LIPS
Carmex Lip Moisturizer
MAC Slimshine Lipstick - Bare
NYX Round Lip Gloss - Very Clear

I got to try my Stella square brush for the Studio Fix Fluid & it works the same as did the MAC 191 brush... & what's funny is that I used the other brush in the same picture in my Discount Mall post for the Studio Sculpt Concealer & it also worked like pro brushes!! LOL... for less that 5 bucks, that's pretty good to be compared to the MAC brushes.....

tata for now!!

LOOT: MAC

I decided it's time to invest on a good foundation.. so I did my research & I found out that there are 4 high end products that are in demand right now: MUFE(Make Up For Ever) Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation; MUFE HD Invisible Cover Foundation; MAC Studio Fix Fluid & MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation.... I was so antsy I decided to go to the mall to get color matched on the MAC foundations... so I picked up 5 things from the MAC counter at Macy's...

1) STUDIO SCULPT FOUNDATION in NC35
2) BRUSH 188
the MAC girl that helped me, told me that this is the best brush to use for the Studio Sculpt Foundation, so I believed her & bought one....

3) STUDIO SCULPT CONCEALER in NC30
4) STUDIO FIX FLUID FOUNDATION in NC30
5) FOUNDATION PUMP
she also used brush 191 with the Studio Fix Fluid, but I didn't buy this brush coz I remembered about the super inexpensive square foundation brush I bought from the discount mall... do you remember this post???? I'm pretty sure it'll work the same...

STUDENT OF THE MONTH

on September 16, the four of us went to Devean's school for his first assessment... it was the coolest thing to see your kid answer all the questions the teacher throws at him... he knows all of his letters, shapes & he can count to past a hundred which is more than what they require a student in kindergarten to know by the end of the school year.. he also can now read a few short words... not to brag or anything but we've been knowing that our kid is exceptionally smart... that's why at the conclusion of the assessment, the teacher had told us that he is the brightest in the whole class... hearing that made my heart melt like dark chocolate on sweaty hands.... LOL... I was just too proud of my son.... we gotta take him to Chuck E. Cheese or sumthin coz he deserves it....

then I got this in the mail today.....

he is the first Student of the Month from his class... I'm a proud momma!!

POMPADOUR

so I attended a dinner-dance party last night & I just thought I'd have fun with my do & makeup.... I thought I'd rock the pompadour just for shits n' giggles... this is the inspiration for the hair, although it didn't turn out that high & that messy, I thought it wasn't bad for a first time...
here is a picture from the party with friends &/or cousins....

& here are a couple from when I got home... I was tryin to get the height of the poof but I guess I didn't capture that... also I will list the products I used for my makeup... I totally forgot the falsies!!! can you tell?? I was such in a hurry coz the momma-in-law was waiting for my ass to get done...
how I wish I had one of 'em bib necklaces like these:
OR atleast them big earrings like this one:

they would definitely look cute with this look & outfit...
the shoes that I wore that night... too bad I didn't have a picture of the whole outfit

MAS RED CHERRIES POR FAVOR

the discount mall right next to my son's school is starting to be my favorite kill time spot... LOL.. I strolled thru the mini stores today & I didn't really find anything interesting to get... so I just got some more Red Cherry lashes...
I also got another Brush-on Eyelash Adhesive since I really really liked the black one I got from before (see this post for details on that)... I.M.O. this is better than any eyelash glue I've ever used, better than Ardell, better than the NYX one, even better than the DUO-which by the way STUNK!!... this one has a little bit of a strong smell but it goes away really fast as it dries up really quickly as well... you didn't have to wait 30 seconds before you can put your falsies on... the only downside to this adhesive is that it sticks really good, which means it's kind of hard to remove as well... but with a good eye makeup remover, there's really no problem with that...
I was trying to talk to the owner of the store about doing some sort of collaboration with me in selling some Red Cherry false eyelashes online... but there was a little bit of a language barrier, the conversation reminded me of me & my manfriend... LOL... so yeah, that was my first attempt with him... I'll try again next time... let me know if any of you are interested...

I'm telling you, cosmetic addiction is no joke.. it's no different to being addicted with illegal drugs, gambling or alcohol... it'll take your money until you hit rock bottom... man! I dunno why I listen to these makeup gurus who tell you to embrace this kind of addiction... LOL.... just playin ladies!! still love you & all y'all's work....
that is why I did a lot of embracing last week & I got a lotta lovin back.....

just side note..... I just wanna say that I hate it when people have something negative to say about positive things that people love, about other people's passion.... I say, 'who cares?!?!' though... you gotta do what makes you happy... this is what makes me happy... so why don't we all just live & let live... we all have our own prerogative... I don't say shit about what you do with your life, your money.... so respect what I do with mine.... capisce?!?

LOOT: TOOLS

did you know that 'loot' spelled backwards is 'tool'?? & did you know that words that are spelled the same when spelled backwards are called 'PALINDROMES'??? hahaha... connection please!?!?! hahaha... I know I'm a dork!!

hmmm... I just had an idea, I should do a segment called "DID YOU KNOW?"... that would be fun!! LOL
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
when I'm bored at home & doesn't have much money to spend, what do I do? I go out & hit the drugstores, buy some more makeup shit when I should just spend the little money I got on a set of handcuffs (or even better a tranquilizer).... so when I get the itch to buy stuff I can just cuff my self to a post & swallow the key... LOL...

so yeee, I did my rounds at Target & Wal-Mart this time and here are the stuff that I got... thank G, I didn't really see a lotta stuff...

StudioTools CONTOUR BRUSH & ANGLED LINER BRUSH.. I love this line of brushes from Target, they're cheap yet quality brushes... both of these brushes are probably only less than 5 bucks...

Sonia Kashuk's BLENDING SPONGE & BENT LINER BRUSH
I got this coz I heard it makes precise line on the lash line... okay, I'm lyin!! I got it coz it looks cool!! I mean a bent brush?! hell yeah!! the question is, will I be able to work this brush?? hahaha... I guess we'll see...
most of you know that I already have the Beauty Blender sponges from Sephora from a while back... I've been using it with liquid foundations & I haven't had any problems with it, in fact, I love it! the only thing that irritates me is the cleaning part, now as most of you Revlon-ColorStay-wearers know, that particular foundation really "colorstays", yes even on the sponge... so I decided I would use the more expensive blender sponge for foundations that don't stick & buy a dupe for the ones that gets the sponge discolored... this one is like $10-20 cheaper than the sponge from Sephora...
I also got the Dr. Bronner's PURE-CASTILLE SOAP coz I am running low on my blendercleanser... I heard this is a good cleanser not only for the sponge but for brushes as well... it is also a 18-in-1 cleanser... I have yet to figure out the other 17 purposes of this cleanser but I'm pretty sure I'll figure it out eventually...
since I needed a good sunblock for the summer time, I got the Aveeno SUNBLOCK LOTION... SPF 55 should be purrdy good...

and finally the Revlon CONTOUR BRUSH, which I got from Wal-Mart... this probably cost me less than 3 bucks... the essence of BEAUTY POWDER BRUSH was from CVS... I bought this a few days earlier, it went on sale for less than $5 [I think] so I grabbed it to add to my cheek contour brush collection...
and that's it for this loot folks!! 'til next beezehhs!!
