VOTING AWAY

I'm clickin.... I'm textin.... I'm callin.... coz ABDC (America's Best Dance Crew) is down to their final 2 crews:

BEAT FREAKS ->

<-QUEST CREW

last night was their last performance to help America decide which crew is the next America's Best Dance Crew.... ok Mario Lopez!!! LOL!... but kidding aside, Quest Crew killed it last night... both their battle performance (against Fly Khicks) & their final performance (against Beat Freaks)... they were so good man! everything was on point & everything was clean.... don't get me wrong, I like Beat Freaks too... they are good as well, especially their performance on last week's episode, but not last night's... in my opinion, they got nothin on the Quest Crew... I was on the phone all night (literally) last night trying to vote for them... I probably called 400 times, sent 100 text messages, & clicked on the VOTE button 100 times already & I will be clickin, callin & textin until March 5th...

So please do the same & vote for QUEST CREW now...

ACNE VULGARIS

I just popped the biggest zit I've ever seen in my entire life & ohmyfriggin G, a big ol white thingie... ok I'm not gonna try to be all girly here... rewind!!! a big ol pus came out!! yeah, whatever! you can say 'eeeewwww' all you want, like you haven't done that atleast once in your life... i'm pretty positive, we've all done this, mostly in private.. the only difference is I decided to share my acne-squeezing-pus experience to all the blog readers that will come across this page... I'm breaking out so bad!! I've been tryina figure out how or when it started... the only thing I can remember was that I was already starting to have a few when my cousin Maita from the P.I. ----> (pic - on the right is Maita... ain't she pretty?!) was here for a visit in June of last year... I think I just had the Papillomavirus vaccine / Gardasil shot (da wat?) around that time & the hormones in it could've triggered it... could it be that? could it be the tea that I've been drinking? could it be stress? could it be chocolate overdose? I dunno, I can't quite put my finger on it... it could be all that or it could be that I was just being lazy...

I used to really be good with skin care in the past... maybe this was because I had gone to a dermatologist, had a good facial & got some good products to use... I was committed to a good daily regimen for a while after that derma visit (which was a while back when I have only Devean... I know, another session has long been overdue... DermaSpa MD staff had called & said they've missed me... =)... ok, they didn't! but I am sooooo desperately needing to lay on one of their beds again & get a facial & shoulder massages... ooohhhh... heaven!!!)... I used to wash & tone my face twice a day, spot treat every night & exfoliate at least 2-3 times a week... I was dedicated... but I guess I lost it when I ran out of products & since my face was clear at that time, I was pretty confident I didn't need to do the whole skin care thing anymore... so I just didn't re buy another acne treatment kit... I adopted the lazy approach to skin care, which is that I wash my face whenever I feel like it... but I was wrong!! then I started to really like makeup... & you know how it is, you wouldn't learn everything about anything overnight, it's a process... I kept buying brushes, using them & not knowing that I have to wash them on a regular basis... I didn't start washing my brushes until after a while, I know it was common sense but I got too excited to experiment & learn new stuff that I didn't worry about anything else... so imagine all the bacteria that my brushes accumulated over time, I was applying makeup AND bacteria on my face!!!!! mega exclamation points!!! yikes! so it could be that too... but now that I know better to wash or at least spot clean my brushes often, I wonder why I still break out!!?!?

in my desperation to find the culprit to my acne problem, I tried a lot of things... I stopped drinking tea, I had cut back on my chocolate intake, I didn't get stressed out (yes! I can control that..... i wish!).. tried all kinds of products less expensive than Glytone too... but nothin worked... I can't blame it on the Gardasil shot anymore as my 3rd & last one was back in October... what I haven't tried is not to be lazy & be consistent... so I guess this is a challenge, from now on I'm gonna try & get back to a regular skin care routine (twice-daily, exfoliate, spot treat - the whole shabang!).. this will be an experiment for a whole week, then I will post the end result next week or in a couple of weeks...

also another sign that I should start taking good care of my skin is that I
found my exfoliating mask - my Sothys Peeling-Creme/Gommage exfoliant... I've never seen/used this in a loooong time, maybe coz I wasn't really looking for it... but lemme tell you, this stuff is amazing!! after removing your makeup, you put a thin layer on your well-dried off face, then leave it on for about a minute (like mask), when it's almost dry, rub it off in circular motion... you can tell that the product peeled dead skin cells off your face as it becomes really soft & smooth... I got this with the Glytone kit from the derma place & even though it's a little bit old, I'm still gonna use it, coz I bought this shit for about 30 freakin bucks!! I'm only probably halfway of the tube & it doesn't have an expiration date so I think it'll be safe to still use it...

I really don't understand the whole deal with acne, I think they have their own mind... they decide when they wanna pop out, when they wanna leave, who they want to infest... (they must be really liking me right now, coz it's really bad!) ... sometimes if they really like you, they torture you by poppin out at the right time, yes they have very good timing!! they pop out at special occasions on the perfect spot - a big ol zit on your forehead (right in the middle to spite you more) when you have a wedding to go to; on your cheek (with pus) when you have to go clubbin with friends; on your nose (hella big & red) when you have to go to a party & see a lot of people you haven't seen in a while; on your chin ('twin zits' - small but there's another one right next to the other so it still looks big) on your friggin birthday!! these are not personal experiences but only to prove that acne/zits/break outs/pimples/tigyawat/tagihawat are our biggest enemy....

to go totally OT here, on my KINDERGARTERRRR post on 2/18, I mentioned that I bought a jumbo 3 barrel waver... well, I was tryin it out the other day & realized that it's hard to do it on short hair & boy was it very time consuming!! or at least it was on my first try... you gotta cut me some slack coz this is my first time using this tool ok?! also I didn't know I ran out of hair spray so I just used a curl definer spray, I know hair spray gives a different effect... oh & yeah, I didn't know what to do with the bangs... freakin amateur! so be very considerate with the criticism please! I probably won't do it again until my hair is long enough... here is what it looked like.....

BEING HUMAN

The Rules for Being Human
1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period this time around.

2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a fulltime informal school called life. Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.

3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial and error, experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately "works."

4. A lesson is repeated until learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.

5. Learning lessons does not end. There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons. If you are alive there are lessons to be learned.

6. "There" is no better than "here." When your "there" has become a "here" you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better than "here".

7. Others are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to something you love or hate about yourself.

8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

9. Your answers lie inside you. The answer to life's questions lie inside you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.

10. This will often be forgotten, only to be remembered again
.

KINDERGARTERRRR

today was registration day for Kindergarten... so, I went out to Alvin School today to register my oldest son, Devean.. school starts at the end of summer(August)... gotta start training him for that coz that boy DOES NOT want to go back to school...

went to the bank right after to settle an ongoing dispute or maybe just so I can enjoy a little itty bitty sigh of relief... one problem taken care of 999,999 more to go... I'm so tired of laggin on everything..

because of that I had to treat myself & satisfy my addiction... I think I deserve it for accomplishing 2 tasks today.. hehe... I bought me some drug store makeups & brushes & tantananan!! found the 3 barrel waver that I've been looking for forever... Yay! I am so psyched!!! can't wait to play with it (oi! not in a lewd way!).... it's gon be awesome!! heehee
did you get to see tonight's show of American Idol? the first 3 finalists have been chosen, although 2 of the guys I was rooting for did not make it in (Anoop Desai & Ricky Braddy), I was happy for 2 reasons - [1] my fave from this week's set made it - Danny Goke & [2] that chick Tatiana Nicole Del Toro is going home... OMG! that girl is so fake!! her personality makes my skin crawl... I am just so glad she's gone so I don't have to get so irritated the whole season... LOL! I can't give out a prediction of the final 12 as of yet coz I haven't heard all of them sing but I do know my girl, Jasmine Murray will make it through...

{P90X update} I heart CARDIO X.. I think I'm gonna do it everyday! I was sweating like no tomorrow....

SO WHAT?!? IT'S MY BLOG

Nanay finally got a glimpse of my blog... she said, "manlaki naman ng pictures mo!"... so why the big pictures of me on this blog??

it's weird how I ran across this page a few minutes after my mom's comment on my self absorbed header -- "The Reader's Point of View: The Irritating Side of Blogs" link: http://northxeast.com/general/the-readers-point-of-view-the-irritating-side-of-blogs/ ... I am guilty of #6 on the list which reads...

6. The blogger is too self-centered.
Most blogger fails to understand that blogs are a two-way communication tool, not a one-way broadcasting tool. It’s good to add some personal touches in your content and blog, and sure… this might please the more regular readers of your blog. However, too much “I, I, I” and “me, me, me” can and most often will frustrate new readers.
Remember, when you’re in a conversation, the best way to keep the other participants happy is to talk about him or her, and not about yourself. Of course, that is unless the topic of the discussion is about you. The best conversation is one where everyone can participate and share their thoughts.

then #3 states...

3. “What is this blog about?”
I am a fanatic StumbleUpon user and as a result, I come across many new blogs on a daily basis. One of the most frequent question I ask myself when landing on one of these blogs is “What is this blog about?”. While your content and about page are great at describing what your site is about, the typical Internet surfer will probably not bother to read them. What most blogs need is a quick way for internet surfer to identify what the blog is about.
Here’s some tricks that can help your visitors recognise your blog’s topic:
• Put a visual cue in your header. If your blog is about books, why not put a picture of a book in your header? This will not work very well for metablogs and other blogs with more abstract topics. This leads us to our next tip…
• Describe the topic of of your blog using your blog’s title and tagline. Make sure that your blog title and tagline are descriptive and attractive. Something simple is always best, but make sure that it will provide the visitor with enough information so that he/she can decide whether this blog is for him or her.
• Put your content above the fold. This way the visitor can see the headlines of your posts right after coming to your site. If the headlines are persuasive enough, you might have just gained a reader.

I'm confused as these 2 aspects contradict each other, atleast in my case... according to #3, to make clear what the blog is all about, "put a visual cue in your header" which I pretty much nailed!... & according to #6 it's not really good to always talk about me, me, me... but what if the subject of the blog is ME?!? then what?! ano ba talaga kuya??? LOL!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***singin to the tune of "it's my party"*** "it's my bloggy & I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to, cry if I want to" LOL

don't mind me... I'm just bored!!! nothin-to-write phobia hits...

IT'S CALLED THERAPY

How to maintain a healthy level of insanity

1. At lunch time, sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars and see if they slow down.

2. Page yourself over the intercom, but don't disguise your voice.

3. Every time someone asks you to do something, ask if they want fries with that.

4. Put decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks. Once everyone has gotten over their caffeine addictions, switch to espresso.

5. In your cheque butts write “for marijuana”.

6. Skip down the hall rather than walk and see how many looks you get.

7. Order a diet water whenever you go out to eat, with a serious face.

8. Specify that your drive-through order is 'take-away'.

9. Sing along at the opera.

10. Five days in advance, tell your friends you can't attend their party because you have a headache.

11. When the money comes out the ATM, scream “'I won! I won!'

12. When leaving the zoo, start running towards the parking lot, yelling “run for your lives! they're loose!”

and the final way to keep a healthy level of insanity
13. Pick up a box of condoms at the pharmacy, go to the counter and ask where the fitting room is.

it's called. therapy!

ROB OH ROB

I am oh so sore it's not even funny!! it was that friggin plyometrics that killed me... I was literally limpin at Costco when me & Davi went to go get rice... when I had to go get rice by myself before, I had to ask for help twice.. I had to ask a store clerk to put the sack of rice in my cart & then had to ask a guy outside to put the sack from the cart to the trunk of my car & I had to do this with a 'pa-cute' voice... this time when Nanay asked me to get rice I was like 'I gotta wait for Davi'... I don't have the energy to look/sound cute right now, especially not when I'm limpin... I feel for the old peoples man!...

a little update on the P90X since I skipped blog for how many days... We worked on chest & arms then ab ripper X on Wednesday.. yoga on Thursday with Weewee Choi from Vegas... then arms again on Friday at Annie's while playing poker... ok that don't count! hehe... then missed the last couple of days... we had to go to a friend's wedding... what's funny is that I saw someone there who works at Costco, who asked me why I was walking funny when he saw me... told him about P90X, turns out, he is doing P90X as well & he is on his 3rd week.. man!! can't wait for the third week, it's probably gonna be easier since we'll be used to it by then... ***sigh***

I almost landed my first makeup gig for this wedding, but the bride got too busy to even do the trials... sayang! oh well!! i thought my career being a makeup artist was gonna start there... LOL!!

anyways, I'm gon let you all go now!! I'm watching a 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' marathon & droolin over ROB KARDASHIAN... he is so hotttt!!! also gotta get some rest, I am tired from the Core Synergistics work out tonight which I finished by the way ***pat on my back***, ok ok with the help or should I say, with a push from Davi... hehe... also, pamatay bukas - it'll be Cardio X... everytime I see the X at the end of every normal workout name, i shake!! katakot!!

anyways, goodnyt y'all!! just a little update on a few things with me...

A DECADE LATER

We just got done with our P90X day 2 workout.. it was PLYOMETRICS today... I know right?!? What the hey is plyometrics?? Don't make me explain right now, I have every reason to believe that doin extreme workout can drain you out, everything in your body including your brain... hehe... (what an excuse!!) Kuya thinks it will be P180X for him.. hell! it might be a year for me - P1yearX!!! haha... that would be really sad! I have a good support system though, my workout buddies(Kuya & Beb-who by the way thinks I'm getting addicted to this blog thing) are serious! so I guess that's good... they'll keep me goin... Need to buy some stuff though - weighing scale, some free weights/dumbbells/band, pull up bar, uhmmmm sports bra..(ok! so you don't need to know that)

I found hella food in the kitchen when I woke up this afternoon('round 1)... there was Sopas, Asado & my fave - Pork & Liver(hmmmm)... So I ask? "what's the okeyshun Nay??".. she said, "10 years na!".. I had to think, 10 year? of what? & then it finally came to me... "aaaahhhh 10 years na sa Amerika!"... wow! it's been that long?? I guess time really flies whether you're havin fun or not... My baby-my VW Jetta, on the other hand, will be 7 years old.. I could not remember the date when I bought it in 2002, I just know it was in February... I know! I'm a bad Mom, can't remember my first born's birthday... anyway, pictures to follow... this reminds me, I have to take it to the lot for service bago magtampo ang baby ko...

Speaking of cars, I called GMAC earlier, (they finance our auto loan) & I know that their customer service call center is located in the P.I., I've called them several times & the reps that I get are all Filipinas, you'll just know, it's not only by the accent but how they use their words - always proper & they're always polite.. but not this girl that I spoke with today... boy was she rude!! she gave me hella attitude!! I don't know! but this is the kind of work I used to do.. It wasn't straight up customer service, it was Accounts Receivable but we get all kinds of calls from dental offices paying their bills or if they need assistance managing their accounts... I did not get proper training but you should know how to be professional especially when the customer is getting irate... I wasn't even close to being upset, I was just asking for her to explain where a late fee is coming from... She got all crazy with me!! Man! this girl was saying "Gahhhhhhd!!" with so much attitude! girls, you should know what I'm talkin about, we use this expression all the time especially when we're irritated... I was glad she didn't say "Gaaash!" I would've been livid... i think 'Gosh' is worse.... I was like "gurl!!" haha... I took her name & ID#... I'm gonna call back tomorrow, i'm giving her name to a manager... Hah!! nahh.. I'm not that mean..

Here are a couple of pics from Aidann's birthday party last Saturday 02/07/09...

Aidann's 1st birthday.. We're all Mickey Moused out!
A DECADE, Davi, Ate Jenn & 3 kids LATER (plus Ate Kaytlee)

DAY 1

Yay!!! My first posting(or whatever them bloggers call it) ever!! So, I'm finally blogging.. Inspired by my lovely(but not lovelier than me... wahahaha) seester-DotDot... Why, you ask?? I dunno!! My sister has a better answer why she's doin it, but for me, I guess it just looked fun.. She made it look fun!! After seeing my sister's blogspot, I was jealous! I said, I gotta make my own... although I know for a fact my blog ain't gon look as good as her's...

I've always wanted to make one I just never had time, but since I am now jobless, i say why the heck not?! I'm getting kinda sick of EBAY, so let's try somethin new... Please excuse me however for mess ups i.e. spelling; grammar(I am no English major in college, infact I did not major anything in college as I dropped out... there's a taste of the 'about me' section for you right there) & excuse the limited knowledge of bloggin terminologies... & with that being said, haters are not welcome here! Constructive criticisms are allowed however if you are nice about it & maybe **winking** a little discreet... Oh & yeah, excuse the french once in a while! hey, I can't do it around my kids, so if I want to use profanity in my own blog, I will!! hehe.. just playin! I'm just sayin, you might see a little cussin here & there... Just cut me some slack....

A few 'firsts' for me today... First time I posted a blog... Woohoo!!

First time in a long time, me & Devean went out on a date... it was just a little chicken nuggets & frosty at Wendy's, sorry I had to make it sound super special.. that's how it is for Moms though, everything is exciting! from just seeing them take a cup back to the kitchen & into the sink to potty training... little things can be really special...

First day of P90X... Yes!! We are doin this hard ass workout DVD shit! & man, I'm tellin you! It's TORTURE!!! Tony Horton don't mess around!! Crazy work out terms I've never heard of in my life - Dive Bombers, Diamond Pushups, Heavy Pants?? I mean who would think Lawnmower is a kind of work out?? unless maybe you're in the military!! I dunno... but it needs serious commitment! I guess we'll see! Most people would say, "I'm gonna do this! I ain't a quitter!", but I am!!!! I gave up on a lotta things I could've been good at - tennis, piano, flute... I just lose interest after a while... But I gotta do this, I need to really lose the tummy!! I can't even call it post baby fat, it's not right anymore! it's been 3 years... I need to do somethin about it... I wanna post the day 1 pics but I can't til I'm sure I'm stickin to it... I'll just keep you posted...

Dang! I was just typin away... This blog thing IS a good way to vent your boohoos & blahblahs... A good stress relieving medium... So girls, save the bitchin to your man! Just start bloggin!!!!!
